" Classic Bike Adventure Tours India" - Newsletter September 2010

Namaste, Tashi Delek, Julley….

Welcome to our summer newsletter.
We’re back out on the road after a two-month tour break, with five tours through the Indian Himalayas on our summer schedule.

We're pleased to see that all of our summer and fall tours have been very popular - a number of them are fully booked.
We took advantage of the break to work on our websites and tour program, and we'd like to share the results with you now.

And now, the news:

Roadrider's Paradise Tours in northern Thailand

The Thailand pilot tour in January 2010 was a resounding success, and we're now getting ready to launch the project officially. Our first bikes have been delivered and they're ready to roll in Chiang Mai. The first regular tour through northern Thailand is going to head out in January 2011. We've finalized the program, and you can find it online here:

We had a truly special occasion for a party on our Bhutan tour in April: Peter Heidtmann, of Darmstadt, Germany, celebrated his 70th birthday on the road with us!

The Gangtey Palace, our new heritage hotel in Paro, Bhutan

We've discovered another new highlight for our tour in Bhutan.

The old palace of the Penelop, the lord of the region, has been lovingly restored and converted to a hotel. We now spend at least two nights there on every tour, savoring the atmosphere of this centuries-old heritage site.

Original Classic Bike Adventure® Bullet for sale in Germany

The first four bikes have found new homes and their owners can now savor that incomparable Bullet feeling any time they like. This summer, we once again shipped four of our 500cc Enfields in full touring trim to Germany. Werner laid hands on them, converting two into genuine scramblers (see photos).

Here's what's still available:

An original Classic Bike touring Bullet with full touring gear - rugged leather saddle bags, crash guards, 22-liter touring tank and twin horns - currently with German registration, for €3,800.
Two bikes have been converted to café racers, and we plan to sell them for around €4,300.

... and last but not least:

Peter, normally at home at the controls of a Lufthansa
jumbo jet, obviously bonded deeply with our Enfield
while cruising around Goa. He's since signed up for
a Nepal tour together with his partner Silke, then
booked the Laos pilot tour for good measure.
Silke will have plenty of opportunity to practice before
the tour - the couple bought a Bullet in Germany
and had it converted to a sidecar outfit.

Deep relaxation in Bhutan

Power napping on the road: RC Peter catching a few winks before the next leg of the tour, faithfully supported by his long-standing tour partner, Yangs from Bhutan.

See you soon cruising India or relaxing in Goa …
