Over the course of three days, we’ll be serving you Indian snacks and delicacies prepared by our new Indian-style caterer Frank, who is going to set up his mobile Indian food stall on the fairgrounds.

We’ll also be offering you the chance to take our customized Enfield Bullets – Scrambler, Café Racer and original CBA tourers – for extended test rides. They’re guaranteed to warm the hearts of many a classic biker. The Bullets have been imported and come with German registration, which will streamline the formalities quite a bit, if you decide to give one a new home... Master mechanic Werner will also be around to talk about any personal customizing ideas you might have, and he’ll once again hold a short workshop on servicing Enfields.

Look forward to campfires, plenty of local German brew, a hearty barbecue, and a generous snort of Old Monk rum as your welcome drink. Road Captain Martin and a local Irish folk band will be playing at the campfire, and we’ll be showing slides of our current tours in Thailand, the Himalayas and Bhutan.

The party location: Schützenhalle Berbketal, In Seufzertal 2, 59821 Arnsberg. Coordinates: 51.402526, 8.051262

As always, there’s free camping on the meadow next to the hall, and a large, quiet parking lot for vans and RVs. If you prefer to book a hotel or guest room, please do so soon. Most accommodation in Arnsberg tends to be booked solid over long summer weekends.

To reserve a room in guest house, visit: http://www.arnsberginfo.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=137&Itemid=181 (german site)

or try this link for hotel rooms: http://www.arnsberginfo.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=136&Itemid=179 (german site)

If you’d like to come to the party, please shoot us a quick e-mail to let us know for our planning.

We’ll be introducing the new pilot tours at the party, and Road Captains Hubert and Peter will be around to chat with anyone who’s interested.

The price is €2,100 for bikers in double rooms for the 14 day/1,900 km tour. We’ll be riding proven 250cc Honda, Suzuki und Yamaha enduros.

MC Bhutan Dragons

The MC Bhutan Dragons is very close to RC Peter’s heart.

This very special motorcycle club’s mission is to help Bhutanese in need, and so each club outing is also a charity run.A small German chapter was formed last autumn, and on our first event we’re organizing a charity run into Bumthang Valley, where a major fire destroyed 50 houses in the heart of the old market village of Jankar in the autumn of 2010.We happened to be in the valley at the time and witnessed the disaster. Many of the now-homeless villagers were not insured, and now have to rebuild their lives from scratch. The King of Bhutan himself was there within 24 hours to coordinate relief measures. He has set up an emergency fund, which we intend to support. We have already collected donations of Rs 80,000 on our “Farm & Fame Ride” around Goa, and we expect to have at least another Rs 120,000 in the pot before our Bhutan tour. We will be handing over the collected donations to those affected by the disaster and representatives of the royal charity project on our Highlights of Bhutan tour from 19 to 30 Oct. 2011.

For more info on the MC Bhutan Dragons, visit http://bhutandragonsmc.com

Peter will be presenting the club at the Sauerland Party and reporting on the planned charity rides and many other club activities, as well as showing photos of club life in Bhutan.

The traditional starting photo at the Casa: the first ride to John’s Jungle Farm with friends in December We’d especially like to note that our long-time friend and Road Captain John – known to many as “Rafting John” from the Kali River – and his wife Silvia built a beautiful jungle farm in the Western Ghats that also accommodates guests.

We’ve already visited it with nine groups, large and small, and enjoyed a wonderful jungle adventure.  A few pictures:

Starting in December, we’re going to offer short adventure tours to this fascinating farm located in the deep jungle of Karnataka every two weeks.
We’ll cover the 120 km to the farm with bikes and jeeps, spending two nights there so that we can take the day for a short trek to the renowned Dudhsagar waterfalls, which plunge almost 400 meters in cascades to Goa.On the third day, we’ll ride a wide arc through the Western Ghats, arriving back at the coast south of Goa – an exciting 180 km ride.

Back in Goa, we’ll be stopping at Agonda Beach,   where we’ll spend two nights with friends in a popular beach hut resort. On the free day, we’ll be offering local tours to explore the most beautiful beaches of southern Goa.To take part in this 5-day tour, either join it spontaneously, or book in advance on our website (starting in October). The tour will cost around €300 for the 5-day version, or €150 for the 3-day trip to the farm and back. We’ll be providing more details in our next winter newsletter.
