Countdown: Our 7th CBA Sauerland Party will have "lift off" on the 30th of May 2014 !!

Party alarm! A good enough reason is the 25th anniversary of „Classic Bike Adventures“ in India, but what's more important to us, we want to party with you guys...;-))

There will be a campfire, beer "made in Sauerland" a spiffing BBQ, a shot of Old Monk rum as a welcome drink for everybody. There will be live-music with Roadcaptain Martin and a local Irish Folk band plus slide shows featuring our latest tours in Thailand, Nepal the Indian Himalayas, Tibet and Bhutan.

We invite you to test-drive our modified Royal Enfield Bullets, our Scramblers and Cafe Racers and original CBA touring Bulllets. All are waiting to be taken for a spin, maybe some of our Classic Bike friends will start a new love affair and wants to purchase one later on...

All bikes have German TÃœV (MOT) and are "ready for the road". Our Chief Mechanic Werner will help you with your individual customization requests, he will also give a "hands-on" workshop on Enfield Bullets...
Tiziana, Martin, Werner, Willy and Peter will be at the party. This is what we we have planned for you:
Premiere showing of the new Sikkim & Bhutan movie by our film maker Jörg Lefevre.
Slide Shows from the new pilot tours in Burma, Nepal-Mustang, Uttarkhand and Tibet.
Q & A and infos about all new pilot tours and also about the Yunnan – South-China Tour Project.
Prep-meeting of the next Germany – India Overland Tours Autumn / Winter 2014-15 with Werner and Crew.

Party location : Schützenhalle Berbketal, Im Seufzertal 2, 59821 Arnsberg, GPS info: 51.402526, 8.051262

If you plan to come we would like you to drop us a mail so that we can be better prepared.

Again there will be a free campsite on a big meadow next to the Schützenhalle, plus a quiet parking lot for campers and RVs which will be accessible from Thursday on.

Those of you who prefer staying in a hotel or B&B should book well in advance since the summer weekends are almost fully booked in Arnsberg.

You can make reservations here:
http://www.arnsberg-info.de/gastgeber/unsere-gastgeber

New: You can also book with WWW.HRS.DE , but most places are 6 - 12 kms away from the event. This not too bad since you can get there at night for a taxi ride of about 20 Euros.

NewsFlash

So far we have received 90 reservations, not counting our "Sauerland friends" from nearby. Friends from Australia, New-Zealand, Spain, Norway, Poland and Sweden are coming!

The 19 days - Burma pilot tour in December 2014 is on!

NewsFlash

Finally, we are ready to go!
It took us three months to sift through all the info and data from last December's scouting tour to finalize and optimize the routing and itinerary of our Burma tour. But now we can say it was definitely worth the wait.

Four days have been added to the tour schedule, and every day is an added bonus. We have upgraded the general standard of accommodation, and we plan to use a service vehicle as a back-up. Also a specialized agency has been contacted to take care of all the border formalities.
Understandably this has led to an increase in the pricing of the tour. Burma still is a very exclusive travelling destination, especially for a motorcycle experience it will be something extra ordinary...

5.790 € for biker double room incl. Kawasaki ER6-n
4.290 € for pillion double room
  810 € surcharge single room
  200 €
surcharge Kawasaki Versys 650 (optional)

  200 € insurance against engine failure, 1.000 € retention/deductible (optional)

The tour is expected to need at least 11 travellers to become feasable, max. 15 bikes, 2 guides, RC Peter and Swiss RC Armin plus a local guide and our mechanic. A good crew, to say the least!

Motorbike Tour North-Vietnam - a new experience:

NewsFlash

Our first Vietnam Tour into the mountain region in the North on almost new Japanese Enduros 220-250cc.

NewsFlash

This 17 days pilot tour is quite a surprise, this is because so far Vietnam had only two kinds of bikes. The infamous Russian Minsk or some beat up two-wheeler of disputable origin. A Dutch/Vietnamese joint venture has got hold of almost new Japanese Enduros with a 220-250 engine, and we have secured those for our tour. It goes without saying this means we picked the highest mountains and deepest gorges, gorgeous valleys and prettiest Hill Stations in the North. And we added the world famous Ha Long bay where we will have a 24 hour cruise...

We also added 3 nights in so-called „Homestays“ with local farmer families in an isolated country region, plus 3 nights in the city of Hanoi.

NewsFlash

The Crew: RC Tiziana and RC Peter plus a local guide , one mechanic and backup bus or Jeep
Dates : 01.02. – 17.02.2015
Cost per biker 2.790 € and for pillion rider (seat in Jeep optional) 2.290 €, single room, if possible, 590 €.

Count down for next Tibet pilot tour May 2015 has started. We are collecting reservations already and after consulting with our local agency in Kathmandu we decided to start the planning of the tour. There is a lot of organizing involved since we would like to discover East Tibet for the first time. Obtaining the necessary permit from the Chinese has again become a reality, at least that is what we have been told by our agency in Lhasa/Tibet, although there is no guarantee....

The 4th grand Tibet Motorbike  Pilottour is on.

Dates are set : 05.05. - 20.05.2015 – we got 8 reservations already!

NewsFlash

The extension of the pilot tours in 2012 - with a detour into South-East central Tibet, part of which is situated below 3.000m in the forest region of Kham (highlights are Draksum Lake, Tashi Gang and the Serkym Pass, Nedong and Chongye, the "Valley of the Tombs of Kings").

We are planning for eight nights in Tibetan Heritage Hotels and seven nights at camping sites with our Nepali camp crew, who will also prepare our lunch, thus enabling us to pick and stay at the most beautiful spots.

For the first time this tour will be visiting the wild Kharta Valley beneath Mt. Makalu. The tour will end in Kathmandu, we will be cruising down from Mount Everest Base Camp to the Tibet-Nepal border and stay overnight at the "Last Resort" in Nepal.

As always we will be riding our own trusted 500cc Power-Bullets to do this "Best Tibet Routing of all Times". Flights from Kathmandu to Lhasa are included in the tour price. We will have more time to get climatized, since we will only be going above 4.000m after 8 days. This will make it more agreeable for "flatlanders" - less headaches and nausea...

Although the exact costs for bikers are not quite fixed yet, we can give you an estimate: 4.950€ for bikers, and 4.450€ for pillion riders, who can also choose to ride in the Landcruiser. Flights from Europe to Kathmandu are on top.

Uttarakhand pilot tour 02.-18. October 2015

There is a news-flash about the Uttarakhand pilot tour. We have a new date fixed and the routing is almost done.

Made possible thanks to our long-time friend Alam, who lives in Dehradun at the "Entry to Uttaranchal". He is a very experienced bike tour guide and has just won the Winter-Jeep Rally in Uttaranchal as co-pilot/map-reader.

NewsFlash NewsFlash NewsFlash

He is the cousin of our long term employee Aslam, transport manager in Delhi. Also Alam is a great bike customizer and has just won a custom competition at the India Bike Week in Goa.
He started to act as 2nd guide on our big tour groups in Bhutan and Tibet.
Alam knows Uttarakhand like his backyard and helped me a lot to put down the routing and optimize the choice of hotels.
Nevertheless we plan to send Tiziana 2014 as a scout into this region, just to do the routing again and check on the hotels we picked.
We want to give you a wonderful experience without hiccups: The pilot tour should be a success for everyone.
Dates: 02.10. – 18.10.2015 / 16 days
Tour prices :
2.490 € for bikers, double room, Kawasaki ER6-n
2.090 € for pillion, double room
450 € surcharge single room
For September 2014 we have planned a tour that has not been done before: Uttarakhand - Garhwal - Western Himalayas - round trip (15 - 17 days)

NewsFlash NewsFlash

Uttarakhand (until 2006 named Uttaranchal, both meaning "northern region") is situated in the South-West of the Himalajas stretching from the Ganges flats in the South into the Himalayas up into the highest mountains. It consists of the two mountain regions Garhwal in the West and Kumaon in the East, plus a small strip of the Ganges flats in the South. Uttarakhand is one of the youngest states of India.

Garhwal is one of the most impressive holy regions in India. Tens of thousands of faithful Hindus flock to the four religious centers in Garhwal during the pilgrim season between May and November: Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

Most roads are metalled and apart from the odd bus of pilgrims and Jeeps there is hardly any traffic. They lead into the deepest Himalajas, passing forceful mountain streams along bright green rice paddies and jagged rocksides. Sometimes, when the forces of nature come into play and water, ice and snow took away part of the road, only then our Enfields have to make it through some rough patches.

During the whole trip we will be staying well below 3.000m, so there will be no altitude sickness...  We are flanked by majestic six, seven and eight thousand meter peaks, covered in eternal snow, glowing in the sunlight, looking down on us. They are the origin of the holiest rivers in India, amongst others the rivers Ganges and Yamuna have their springs in Uttarakhand.

We will be staying in typical resorts und hotels, where possible in the higher middle-class category, partly privately owned. The food will be North Indian cuisine. Some places, because of their religious significance will only serve vegetarian food, but this is of no concern, since Indian veg-dishes are very diverse. Not all places serve liquor, but for those of you who like their evening drink of a beer or a rum, we can work something out...

Probably the tour will start with the flight from Delhi to Dheradun and will end up at the Corbett National Park, from there a bus will take you back to Delhi.
