Cyprus Motorcycle Tours –
Peter’s Guided Bike Adventure in Cyprus

A lush lap across the sun-drenched island of Cyprus with its ancient culture. Suitable for all bikers with some experience and enjoy riding through mostly untouched nature. Start and base is the original Chrysochous Bay near Polis. We are planning three day tours as well as a three day round trip to the mountain forests of the Troodos and to Nicosia. Criss-cross, up and down, the small roads and tracks lead us through the mountains and hills back to Polis. Finally, an adventurous day on small trails in the National Park on the Akamas Peninsula. This seven-day classic bike tour takes place in the best seasons, spring and autumn. On long passages there is hardly any traffic, for hours we curve on lonely roads through the mountains, offering driving pleasure even for spoiled cruisers. Culture is not neglected either – besides Cyprus’ history we will get to know today’s village life and the urbanity of the divided capital Nicosia.

The Cyprus motorcycle tour is easy to ride, with the demands increasing slightly as it progresses. Due to the small number of unpaved roads we can recommend this tour to almost all bikers. If you already have some Enduro experience, you have a bit of an advantage. We will ride our Royal Enfield Himalayas and Bullet Classic 500, possibly also 250cc Honda Enduros. For the program I work together with my long time biker friend Hans from Holland, who has been living in Cyprus for over 40 years and really knows every track and every little mountain road there. I myself am now for 2 years again on the road in Cyprus, there is hardly a slope that I have not tried since then.

AT A GLANCE

The seven magical highlights of every Cyprus Motorcycle tour

  • the ascent to the 2,000-meter Mt. Olympos
  • the off-road tour of the rugged Akamas Peninsula
  • meze meals with fish and meat meze in the best taverns!
  • the mountain village of Spilia, where we’ll spend the night in a romantic guest house
  • picturesque Lara Bay, the nesting ground of sea turtles
  • visits to the two best wineries, with a small wine tasting
  • the picturesque Polis Bay, with the quaint little fishing port of Porto Latchi

Costas from TT Rentals and the team from Petrides Rentals work together with us.
We try to provide all bikes at the hotel. You will be picked up by us at the airport, be it in Larnaka or (better!) in Paphos.

For the three-day mountain motorcycle tour with detour to Nicosia we will have a support vehicle for luggage transport and a mechanic.

Direct flights to Paphos and Larnaca in Cyprus are available for about 50-500 EUR. Ryan Air, Easy Jet, Eurowings, Transavia and WizzAir fly several times a week from various German, Austrian, Swiss, Dutch and many other airports to Cyprus. It is best to take care of the tickets yourself, but I can also help if you wish. If you book flights to Paphos instead of Larnaka, the journey to and from Paphos ( 70km/1 hour) is much shorter. From Larnaka it takes three hours to Polis (about 180km/ 2,5 hrs mainly on the highway).

Of course you can add a few days for relaxing, sightseeing, hiking, individual biking & beaching before or after the tour. We highly recommend it, Cyprus is really fun! I can give tips for this and help with organizing accommodations, vehicles, program, etc. Here is an example, the mountain hiking with the young German-Cypriot Manuel :

Hikes in the Akamas Nature Reserve

The Akamas peninsula (hero in Greek mythology) is ecologically extremely valuable and at the same time culturally significant. The interior of the peninsula is wild and rugged, and along the coast there are secluded bays with crystal-clear water. Fauna and flora are also impressive: Sea turtles lay their eggs here, and of the 500 or so plant species counted, over 30 are endemic, i.e. only found here. The peninsula is especially beautiful in winter and spring, when a green carpet spreads out and numerous wildflowers bloom. And last but not least, there is a good portion of mythology: in a rock pool on the north coast, Aphrodite is said to have had fun with Adonis.

We work together with Manuel, the best German-Cypriot hiking guide, who offers excellent day tours for us. More info on request.

Need a massage after biking or hiking? Then on to Nikko and Nikki in Polis. The two are multi-skilled, very sensitive and experienced. We are happy to help you with your reservation.

We’ve selected a good two-star hotel for you:

The accommodation is located directly on the sea and is run by the friendly owner family. It has a good restaurant with terrace directly on the beach, a pool, a tennis court and rooms with sea view. It is 400 m to the port of Latchi and 4 km to the village center of Polis. Single room with sea view for all participants on request go clear.

We spend a total of five nights there, two more on the tour, once at The Mill Hotel in the romantic mountain village of Kakopetria in the Troodos Mountains and then at the “Kipros Accomodation” Guest House in the old town of Nicosia. Six Royal Enfields and 3 Honda 250cc Enduros are at our disposal – the best touring bikes available in this region. We know the bikes and the ( Honda-) renters well. Out of five local motorcycle rental companies, only two are really professional, we “tried”.

If it comes to a binding commitment, please send a meaningful picture and a copy of the identity card or passport. As soon as the deposit of 500 EUR has arrived on our Cypriot company bank account, I will confirm immediately.

Important ! We need for our motorcycle insurance a so called “No Claim” from your car or motorcycle insurance at home. This paper is generally known, also by German insurers. It simply confirms that you have not had a claim in the last 5 years. If there are problems with the certificate, let me know. Then I always have a “Plan B”. If you have had insurance claims, no problem, then we go to “Plan C”. I will be happy to explain that if needed.
